You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points into United MileagePlus miles
You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points into Southwest Rapid Rewards points
You can transfer Amex Membership Rewards points into Delta SkyMiles
You can transfer Citi ThankYou points into JetBlue TrueBlue points
But which bank allows you to transfer points into American Airlines AAdvantage miles?
None.
And that’s despite the fact that both Citi and Barclays issue cobranded American Airlines credit cards (so they already have a partnership in place). Here are the 12 AA credit cards that are / were available, either via new application or via product change (i.e. upgrade / downgrade)

2. Citi AAdvantage Gold World Elite Mastercard (discontinued)
3. American Airlines AAdvantage MileUp Mastercard Credit Card

6. CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Select Mastercard
7. Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard

That’s A LOT of credit cards with 2 major bank partners, but the fact that there weren’t any bankpoint transfer opportunities with American Airlines for YEARS is crazy!
NOW that’s all changing, at least for a limited time 😀
PART 2: CITI – AMERICAN AIRLINES TRANSFER PARTNER DETAILS
Currently temporary from 7.18.2021 thru 11.13.2021
The transfer ratio varies based on which Citi credit card(s) you have
1:1 transfer via Citi Chairman, Citi Prestige \u0026 Citi Premier credit cards (1,000 points = 1,000 AA miles)
2:1 transfer via Citi ThankYou Preferred \u0026 Citi Rewards+ credit cards (1,000 points = 500 AA miles)
PART 3: WHY THIS IS EXCITING!
This partnership is long overdue, so it’s great to see Citibank and American Airlines testing this out. Hopefully this pilot program ends up becoming a permanent transfer feature.
You now have an entirely new way – and the BEST way – to earn AA miles with credit cards! Before 7.18.2021, the best rate at which you could earn AA miles was via a single 3X category on the AAdvantage Aviator Silver Mastercard. All other cards only earn 2X miles at best, which is quite bad. Since Citi has cards that earn 3X and 5X ThankYou points, it’s now like earning 3X or 5X AA miles in select purchase categories if you have an eligible card offering 1:1 pointtomile transfers.
American Airlines is part of the oneworld alliance. This means if you transfer your Citi ThankYou points into AA miles, you don’t have to book an AA flight. You could also use your newly transferred AA miles to book other flights on other airlines within the oneworld alliance. That includes British Airways, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Alaska Airlines! You can see all the oneworld airlines at this link: https://www.oneworld.com

Citi Bank ประกาศแผนจะยุติ Consumer Business ใน 13 ประเทศทั่วโลก ซึ่งไทยเป็นหนึ่งในนั้น หลายคนมองว่าบัตรเครดิตอยู่ในส่วนของ Consumer Business จึงเกิดคำถามว่า จะไปยังไงต่อ?
