He was going through a tough period, but anyone who had interacted with him prior to 2020, knew how truly amazing, special, warm, fun, and loving he was. He was lonely at times, like anyone, but he had a ton of friends, and not everyone was just out to get money. Things seemed to change in 2020 once Covid hit and he left Zappos and Vegas. The combination of just a few small things, taken to the extreme, and maybe a handful of the wrong people led to tragedy. I thought Park City would have been a breath of fresh air, a place to start over, and a chance to imagine the future. The plans I saw and heard when I visited PC a year ago were interesting. Still so sad and shocked. He was truly a radiant person.
Mental and physical health is wealth. Not money
I used to love Zappos- the commercials, the idea, so great. Now that Amazon has stolen that idea, it is not fun anymore.
Great reporting. So he died of life hacking/sleep deprivation/ questionable “friends”.
He was killed. He had a vision to create another Sillicon Valley and they killed him.
This proves not even BILLIONS can buy you happiness
Having Tony’s wealth basically stripped his life of sincerity, trust and true friendships. At some point you have to realize that your “ friends” are all on the payroll. I feel he died of loneliness without really experiencing what it really feels like to be loved for you and not the size of you bank account.

Just goes to show money doesn't bring happiness. Addiction causes severe depression and a lack of sleep which will ultimately cause you to feel suicide. I know, I've gone through it. Don't try drugs people thinking you can control your habit because at first you might be able to but then out of nowhere you start getting withdrawls and bam you're addicted. The withdrawls are horrible I can't even compare them to anything and ultimately it makes you an addict because you'll constantly use just so you won't get sick. Don't do it pleaseeee! Also getting on meds psych meds with doctors try not to take them longer then 6 months because they all cause withdrawls even the ones that aren't narcotics. I got put on sleeping meds then after more then a year I tried to stop taking them and I got soo friggin sick vomiting every 20 mins, my whole body hurting like as if I was hit by a truck. Worse feeling ever, I felt like I was going to die!!
Tony was caught in his OWN world. Looking at all the stories you can tell that his family created a so called environment of success that is NOT livable and he grew up trying to please them per say. They wanted him to play instruments or be a doctor or lawyer. But he chose neither of the above. He pleased them with going to Harvard. But Tony indicated that he cheated in school. Thus, at Zappos he was trying to created the so called perfect environment for a worker to be. But in the end he was the CEO. He was single and had NO significant other than the pets he had. He did NOT look happy in the interviews he did. There was NO emotion there. No laughing. No joking like the employees. Thus, Tony was looking and looking for his OWN nirvana and in this planet he did NOT FIND IT. It did NOT fulfilled him.

A: Keep in mind that the most recent financials filed by the company were on November 23, 2020, and only cover the quarter from July 1, 2020 through September 30, 2020. Further, keep in mind that the acquisition of PCTI was only completed in June 2020, and that the company was near bankruptcy when Brian Conway took over in February 2020. Any financials prior to Q3 2020 do not even cover the company before it acquired PCTI and pivoted into the energy sector. You are looking at a completely different company with a completely different set of management!
