  2. I remember using Comic Sans font for most of my assignments in elementary school. I still don't mind Comic Sans. However, nowadays, my favorite font is Patua one.

  3. It's kind of a joke. You'd have to have been a little older at the end of the 90s , think about it kinda like a meme, before there were memes. The hate started out as a bit of a joke and then so many people started repeating the hate that now it's kind of in the subconscious of any one old enough to remember the early days of word processors

  4. Something similar happened to me, I'm Spanish native language speaker, some years ago I casually translated some English comic pages for some online community and posted them, the font I used was Comic Sans because it was for a comic, and… While most of the feedback was positive, there was this small group of people who strongly criticized my usage of Comic Sans, when I asked why nobody could give me a satisfactory explanation for their hate. I remember doing some research myself back then, not finding the answer neither.

Now I found your video and, while I still didn't find the answer I was looking for, I found out I'm not alone on feeling like this.

I have a theory though… While some people might genuinely dislike it because it looks ugly for them or some others because it is used on the wrong context, I think most of haters are just meme-ing their hate, they go with the hate trend for the sake of following it, they might not even actually hate Comic Sans and condemn anyone who uses it, leaving people like you and me confused about it.

  5. for a font that really isn't used as a header or even subheader text, it's quite… thick. i don't completely despise comic sans, it's just that there's many better alternatives out there. I can only ever see comic sans be used in an primary school worksheet, that's all.

  6. I know it seems (or really is) trivial to have hatred for a font. I myself am weirded out by the fact that I hate it. But as someone who is fond of graphic design, it was (sort of) taught that you should avoid fonts like Comic Sans, Papyrus, Jokerman, etc. because they look out of date. Also, I have seen this font in professional or formal use which is quite off since the font is not meant for that. I’m not bothered by it, or in fact enjoy it, when it is used for troll or meme videos. But using it in a commentary, formal, or even casual context, it’s just bothering personally

  7. I don’t understand why people don’t like it, sure if you use it for a collage paper it’s probably horrible. But why would you use it for a collage paper, “comic” is literally in the name and you expect it to be “professional”. I personally use it for my personal browser and it is my default font
