Thai faces hottest week of the yr

Thailand’s Meteorological Department has forecast the hottest week of the year, starting Monday.
The department warned that temperatures in most areas of the country could soar above 40 degrees Celcius.
The heat wave will mainly hit Thailand’s north, northeast, and central plain areas adding to problems caused by severe water shortages which have seen 59% of the country’s lands suffer droughts this year.
The end of April typically brings extreme temperatures over central Thailand with the Sukhothai province set to swelter in temperatures of up to 43 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday.
